| Take a look
at Shaldon |
|
Shaldon is a picturesque fishing village nestling at the mouth of the River Teign, a river renowned for its cockles, mussels and salmon. The Ness headland watches proudly over the mouth of the estuary, guarding the waters between Shaldon and the busy Victorian town of Teignmouth, offering some of the most stunning views in the West Country.
If you enjoy the water, the river beach and estuary will delight you, not to mention the famous Shaldon ferry which plies the river to Teignmouth throughout the day. The children will love the sandy beaches reached through Smugglers Tunnel and the adults and children alike will enjoy the botanical gardens and small zoo, followed by a traditional Devon Cream Tea or ice cream made with real clotted cream! |

Visitors to Shaldon will always remember the quaint cottages, narrow
streets, village shops and a great choice of restaurants, cafes
and Inns – take a look for yourself. “Standing above the botanical gardens on a clear day, you
can see for fifty miles across the bay.” |
